Free Standing (FS) Pallet Inverter

FS Pallet Inverter Image 1

The Free standing pallet inverter is great for boxed, bagged or canned goods, and is versatile enough to handle everything from yoghurt and biscuits to bottled wine or cement. Use the FS to switch from wood to plastic pallets, to recover damaged product from the bottom of the stack or to add flexibility to your distribution pallet policy. We can build the FS with a stainless steel turning body, Steel-It paint or with a hot zinc spray rust-protected finish. The FS pallet inverter is by far the most popular model in our range and has not changed greatly in style since we developed the machine 30 years ago. It is ruggedly built, simple to use and above all extremely reliable.
The FS pallet inverter loads at a raised height by forklift, and has one fixed table with a moving top clamp. There are three basic size models with maximum jaw openings of 63 inches, 75 inches and 86 inches.

  • As a free standing 180° pallet inverter with single clamping table.
  • The FS can be sited indoors or outdoors and being free standing can be easily relocated. It requires a 3 phase power supply.
  • It's main use is found in warehouse storage situations switching incoming goods to hygienic or other high quality pallets.
  • Equally, it can also be used to retain quality pallets and switch to shipping skids for distribution.

More about the FS Pallet Inverter

FS stands for Free Standing pallet inverter. This indicate that the only installation required is an electrical connection, and that the inverter itself is stable under its own weight.
The standard and always the most popular model is fitted with lever controls on a short arm. One lever operates the clamp on the pallet inverter and the other turns the load over 180 degrees. There is an option to have the pallet inverter supplied with push button, automated or radio remote controls.
The FS pallet inverter is known for being the work horse of our range with more machines sold each year than most other styles of pallet transfer systems put together.

The tables are raised above floor level so it must load by forklift truck. It is available in 3 sizes of jaw opening with special models available above the normal standard maximum of 86 inches.

Free Standing FS DC Pallet Inverter

Man loading FSDC Pallet inverter

Highly versatile free standing FS DC 180° inverter with dual clamps.
The FS DC Inverter can be loaded by forklift truck or at ground level by pallet truck with either ramped access or flush to floor tables.

All FS DC Inverter machines are painted with two coats of zinc primer and a 2 pack epoxy acrylic top coat as standard.
The standard unit handles loads up to 78 inches and down to as low as 24 inches in height while the loading capacity is 4500lbs.

The FS DC's versatility makes it the ideal choice where there is a big variety of load types and sizes and floor level loading is preferred.

Customised versions of the FS DC Inverter can be supplied with such options as

  • increased jaw opening and table size
  • pallet grippers to reduce manual handling
  • stainless steel, hot zinc spray or "Steel-It" finish available.

FDL Pallet Inverter

Loading an FDL Pallet Inverter

Specifically created to work in the food and pharmaceutical industries the FDL pallet inverter has minimal working parts and a smooth design making it very easy to clean.
Premier first decided to design and build a 180 degree pallet inverter for the pharmaceutical industry in 1996. The FDL pallet inverter has a different turning principle using a hydraulic geared motor making for a very smooth operation.
The FDL pallet inverter has a minimal number of functioning parts so maintenance is almost unnecessary. To guard against the dangers of leaking oil or dripping grease the hydraulics are housed in an enclosed rear seation.
All FDL Inverter machines are painted with two coats of zinc primer and a 2 pack epoxy acrylic top coat as standard.

The FDL pallet inverter is a floor level loading 180º Inverter. It has special design features to make it ideal for the food and pharmaceutical industries for which it was created. We can build the FDL with a stainless steel turning body or with a hot zinc spray rust-protected finish.

As with the FS DC there is a choice of conventional/ramp loaded or floor flush tables and a choice of 66 inches or 78 inches maximum jaw openings.

The FDL Inverter rotation system has been refined and the entire unit has been built with fewer moving parts, hosing and connections. The FDL is highly versatile but is most commonly used to switch raw materials entering food or pharmaceutical plants to hygienic plastic pallets.

RR Type 1 Pallet Inverter

rr-type1-pallet inverter clamping

The RR works on a totally different principle to the other styles of 180 degree inverter, the letters in its title standing for "recline and rotate". This method of tipping the load through 90 degrees onto its back so that it is centralised over a turntable is an ideal one when handling very wide or heavy loads.

It can be built with single or dual clamping tables to any width or depth. The jaw opening is also totally variable, though normally the loads it has to handle are not that high.

Typical applications would be to invert stacks of steel through 180 degrees after stamping or surface treatment, to turn piles of laminated boards to meet customer requirements or to handle mould-manufactured concrete products.

The RR Type 1 is almost always supplied as a fully automated and guarded system custom-built to suit the individual user's needs. Premier have built machines with up to 13200 lbs capacity and could go higher than this if the need arose.

It is certainly a machine which is aimed more at load inversion than as a method of pallet exchange, but with wide or overweight loads there is no better method of handling.

RR Type 2 Pallet Inverter

RR Type 2 Pallet Inverter half tipped

Like its bigger brother, the RR Type 2 also works on a recline and rotate principle to achieve 180 degree inversion. The dual clamping and tipping are hydraulically driven whilst the turning is achieved by releasing a lock mechanism and rotating the body by hand. It is a smooth, simple and quick operation.

The Type 2 is usually rated at 2200 lbs capacity and is designed to handle short stacks of product, particularly paper. It is used to turn piles through 180 degrees for reverse side printing or by papermakers to transfer 2 small piles of paper to one larger pallet for distribution.

The loading table is flush to the floor for ease of loading by pallet truck. Controls can be either lever operated or extended push button.

Above all the RR Type 2 is an extremely compact system which will work in the minimum of floor space and headroom, making it particularly suitable to small print shops. The whole inversion operation takes less than a minute per pallet so it is fast as well as simple.
